About Dr. Rainer Loiskandl
Dr. Rainer Loiskandl has been a family physician since
1986. He was born in Europe and immigrated to Canada at a young age .
He grew up in Toronto, but developed a love for Georgian Bay which eventually
brought him and his family to the area. He attended McMaster University
to study medicine as a mature student, graduating in 1984. He completed
his Family Medicine residency in Hamilton in 1986. He since has worked
as a family and emergency room physician in various hospitals in the
province before settling in Midland in 1988. He has been involved in
various capacities in hospital, community and provincial affairs. In
the late 1990’s he co-developed the medical aesthetics company,
Laser Health Works. His training has taken him to various locations in
Canada and the United States. He is a member of the Canadian Society
of Phlebology and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
In 2002 he was appointed as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family
Medicine at McMaster University. He has professional interests in Laser
and Computer innovations, and private sector
solutions to health care
delivery. He is an avid reader of history and enjoys boating and skiing
with his family.
